Children's Products Safety Management System (KC)
Purpose of certification
The Children's Products Safety System, under the Special Act on Safety of Children's Products, establishes fundamental requirements to ensure safety of products used by children and create a safe environment for children, thereby preventing child accidents caused by products and contributing to maintenance and promotion of children's health.
Certification overview
Under the Children's Products Safety System, children's products with potential hazards from product or component structure, use methods, harmful substances, etc. must demonstrate applicable safety through Safety Certification, Safety Confirmation, or Supplier's Declaration of Conformity, as applicable by product.

Remarks
Validity period
After obtaining Safety Certification, factory audits are conducted every two years to maintain certification.
Penal provisions
Under Article 41 (Penal Provisions) of the Special Act on Safety of Children's Products, violators shall be punished by imprisonment for not more than three years or a fine not exceeding 30 million won.
Other matters
- When applying for Safety Certification for a product of the same classification manufactured at the factory (where a factory audit was conducted) of a product that already holds Safety Certification, the factory audit may be omitted.
