Purpose of certification

Energy Efficiency Rating

The Energy Efficiency Rating Labeling System requires efficiency grades from 1 to 5 based on energy consumption efficiency or energy use, and applies the Minimum Energy Performance Standard (MEPS) as the lower limit of energy consumption efficiency to improve product efficiency and promote high-efficiency products.

High-efficiency energy equipment

The High-efficiency Energy Equipment Certification System certifies equipment and devices with significant energy-saving effects as high-efficiency energy equipment to foster early market formation, promote distribution of high-efficiency products, and maximize national energy savings.

Standby Power Reduction Program

The Standby Power Reduction Program aims to promote implementation of standby power reduction functions in electronic products and expand distribution of excellent standby power reduction products.

Certification overview

The Energy Efficiency Management System comprises three programs promoted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Energy Agency: the Energy Efficiency Rating Labeling System, the High-efficiency Energy Equipment Certification System, and the Standby Power Reduction Program.
