Purpose of Certification
China RoHS certification aims to regulate the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products manufactured in China or imported from overseas and sold within China, and to control and reduce environmental pollution caused after product disposal.
Certification Overview
China RoHS certification classifies products into key management list equipment and general electrical and electronic products. Depending on the classification, mandatory certification (conformity assessment — certification or self-declaration) or voluntary certification applies, and the appropriate labels must be displayed.

Remarks
Validity Period
Maintained through post-market surveillance such as sampling inspections after certification is completed.
Marking Requirements
Appropriate labels must be displayed according to product classification — key management list equipment (CGP, SDoC, etc.) and general EEE (environmental protection use period marking).
Other Matters
Penalties apply if key management list equipment is not certified under the conformity assessment system. For voluntary certification EEE, products may be sold with a use-period label even when non-compliant, but must be recalled immediately after the use period expires.
